OCS Access Eliminates Fees For High-Volume Customers

DENVILLE, NJ — OCS Access has streamlined the pricing structure for its business-to-business accounts. The company offers an Internet-based service that enables operators to integrate a sophisticated online ordering system for their clients with their own management software, providing great flexibility and tight control without undertaking extensive website development.

The updated pricing system still is based on the number of customers ordering from an operator subscriber, but it no longer includes fees for transactions made by more than 1,500 customers.

The previous pricing model required operators with more than 1,500 users to pay $425 per month plus a 1% transaction fee. The new system allows operators to purchase another 1,000 blocks for an additional $425 per month. Pricing remains the same for subscribers with fewer than 1,500 users.

The price revision was implemented in response to customer recommendations, according to company founder Richard Smith. “Several of the OCS operators we work with had voiced concern over the transaction-fee based licensing, as it didn’t offer them a fixed cost which they could budget against and track,” he explained.

“In response to this, we reworked our pricing model to eliminate the transaction fees,” Smith reported. “The feedback we’ve received has been great.”

OCS Access is a monthly subscription service that does not lock operators into a long-term contract. Its Internet ordering solution is fully integrated into existing industry back-end systems used by operators, including ChallengeMaster, Crane Streamware, InOne Technology, MEI and many custom programs. It thus enables operator subscribers to take full advantage of the service’s sophisticated “cart” features, and to use their existing management software to update product, customer and pricing information without having to learn new software and repeat the entry of existing information.

OCS Access permits its operator subscribers to show customers their specific pricing, rather than having to list one price level across all accounts. And Web product offerings can be updated as often as desired, without the need to contact and pay a website developer.

An operation selling nationally can standardize its national accounts under a single pricing mechanism, even if they’re served by multiple distribution centers running their own systems with their own decentralized information.

The service is described in detail online at ocsaccess.com.
