SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- Apriva has formed an alliance with MEI (West Chester, PA) to bring cashless payment solutions to vending operators in North America.
Under the new accord, the two companies will co-market and support an end-to-end solution that includes hardware, secure payment processing systems, and reporting and back-office tools. Apriva and MEI also will actively support one another's channel partners. The strategic alliance between them is nonexclusive.
Both companies have a successful track record of jointly delivering cashless payment solutions to the market. They are active participants in the National Automatic Merchandising Association's branded cashless payment offering. MEI is also a core partner in Apriva Vend, an end-to-end cashless payment service that incorporates hardware, software, wireless transaction technology and carrier services, as well as reporting and back-office functionalities. | SEE STORY
The strategic alliance announced in early July expands this partnership by enabling both companies to closely market each other's solutions. It also allows Apriva to sell and support MEI's Easitrax vending management software.
"Over the past few years, we have worked closely with MEI to integrate and certify its cashless payment solutions," said Apriva president Paul Coppinger. "This strategic alliance builds on our numerous synergies and successes, and allows each organization to gain access to sales channels that extend well beyond the traditional vending space to include merchant-acquiring banks, payment processors and independent sales organizations."
According to Jeff Jordan, president of MEI's vending division, Apriva's wireless transaction technologies, which enable operators to reliably and securely conduct cashless vending, have won the industry’s respect. He predicted that the alliance will enable both companies "to deliver a compelling ROI for cashless vending technology by offering best-of-breed solutions based upon superior reliability, security and value."
