Timezone

SINGAPORE -- Timezone reports that it is manufacturing several leading games from Innovative Concepts in Entertainment (Clarence, NY) and Benchmark Games Inc. (Hypoluxo, FL) under license. These include ICE's Treasure Quest and Benchmark's Monster Drop. The equipment is being produced at the LAI Games factory in Indonesia.

photo | STRONG DEMAND: Timezone family entertainment centers are designed to provide state-of-the-art interactive amusement in a safe, friendly, brightly lit environment. This offering has enabled the chain to attain a leadership position in each of the seven nations in which it operates. Its 228 stores consume a great deal of equipment, so the company is producing some popular titles under license from manufacturers like Benchmark Games and ICE.

With 228 stores now in operation, Timezone has high consumption requirements. Group chief executive Sonaal Chopra noted that, for this reason, producing equipment within Timezone's service area represents good economics for the operation as well as for the games' licensors.

Timezone, which is part of the LAI Group (Perth, Australia), is the leading family entertainment center chain in the Australasian region, with operations in Australia, India, Indonesia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore and Vietnam. It is opening between 25 and 30 new FECs annually, and reports that it is the market leader in every country in which it operates.

The company noted that its aggressive growth plan encourages it to increase production at LAI's Indonesian factory during 2012.
