NCA, William M. (Bill) Murray NEW YORK CITY -- William M. (Bill) Murray will join the National Coffee Association as president and chief executive, effective June 1. He succeeds Robert Nelson who led the trade group as president and chief executive for two decades.

Murray joins the NCA from the Public Relations Society of America, where he served as chief executive of the 32,000-member organization. Prior to PRSA, he was the co-chief operating officer of the Motion Picture Association of America.

Former NCA board chairman Dub Hay served as interim president and chief executive since Nelson's departure in January. Nelson remains available to NCA's board of directors to assist in a smooth transition.

The National Coffee Association of USA was founded in 1911. It is the earliest association for the U.S. coffee industry, and is one of the oldest trade groups in the country. Its membership comprises coffee growers, roasters, retailers, importers and exporters, and wholesalers.
