Main Event Entertainment Opens Rio Grande Valley Store In Pharr, TX

PHARR, TX -- Main Event Entertainment, a Dallas-based family entertainment center operator, is well on its way to reaching its previously stated goal of doubling in size within three years. The company recently opened its newest attraction in Pharr, TX, a fast-growing city in the Rio Grande Valley's booming McAllen-Edinburg-Mission area. The 58,000-sq.ft facility, at 500 N. Jackson Road, opened its doors on Aug. 6.

Like other Main Event locations, the Pharr installation features the company's "Eat Bowl Play" experience, and includes state-of-the-art bowling lanes, a multi-level laser tag arena and a gravity rope course, along with 100+ deluxe videogames. The facility also boasts regulation-size billiard tables, full-service bars and dining, and free Wi-Fi access.

"We're expanding our fun destination footprint into Texas's Rio Grande Valley for the first time," said Main Event chief executive Charlie Keegan. "As we develop new centers across the country, we're focused on creating quality entertainment experiences for the people and families within each community."

A subsidiary of Australia-based Ardent Leisure Group, fast-growing Main Event Entertainment specializes in high-volume state-of-the-art FECs ranging in size from 45,000 to 75,000 square feet. At present, the company boasts nearly 20 locations throughout Texas, Arizona, Georgia and Illinois.

In recent years, Main Event has coupled an aggressive growth strategy with updated facility designs. Among the innovations it has implemented are new lighting technologies in its bowling areas and interactive floor displays. Main Event has also made sustained, aggressive use of social media, including Facebook and Twitter, to strengthen customer loyalty through a steady stream of promotions.
