IBWA Names Toner Govt. Relations Director
James P. (J.P.) Toner Jr. has joined the International Bottled Water Association as director of government relations. He will oversee IBWA's government affairs work at the state and federal levels, working with legislators, association members and allies to help shape legislation, regulations and public policy for the bottled water industry. He joins IBWA after serving as manager of external affairs for the Edison Electric Institute, the association of the nation's shareholder-owned utility companies. Separately, Dennis Carpenter has joined IBWA as manager of membership services. His responsibilities include member recruitment and retention. Carpenter previously managed membership operations for the National Association of Black Accountants Inc.
