NEW ORLEANS -- Reily Foods Co. has acquired the New England Tea & Coffee Co., a multi-generation 98-year-old roaster based in Malden, MA. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

NET&C adds to New Orleans-based Reily's roasting capacity and packaging capabilities, creating a network of three strategically located roasting facilities.

New England Tea & Coffee was founded in 1916 by the Kaloyanides and Dostou families. Its packaged coffee is available in supermarkets across the U.S., online and brewed at more than 5,000 foodservice locations.

Reily Foods, established in 1902, manufactures and markets coffees and teas, along with a wide variety of specialty brands crossing many categories, including flour, chili seasonings, mayonnaise, salad dressings, sauces and brownie mixes. Its products are sold in grocery stores and restaurants throughout the U.S., with select products sold internationally.

New England Tea & Coffee will operate as a Reily subsidiary. Its production and distribution activities will continue as usual, and no changes to its 200-employee workforce are expected, Reily officials said..

New England Tea & Coffee's five shareholders -- James M. Kaloyanides, John C. Kaloyanides, Michael Kaloyanides, Stephen Kaloyanides Jr. and James Dostou – will exit the day-to-day operations of the company.
