WATERTOWN, CT -- Crystal Rock Holdings Inc. has acquired the assets of Hartford Stamp & Office Works and plans to merge the company into its new Crystal Rock Office brand. Crystal Rock recently announced its entry into the office products market, and said the strategic acquisition instantly positions the water and OCS provider as a reputable expert in the newly added category.
"We've combined category expertise with existing strengths in distribution, service and infrastructure, and feel we have positioned ourselves to deliver a great experience right out of the gate to customers buying office supplies," commented Crystal Rock chief executive Peter Baker.
Based in the Connecticut capital, Hartford Stamp distributes some 35,000 office supplies, with free overnight delivery. Established in 1919, the company is also one of New England's top manufacturers of rubber stamps, embossing seals, signs and banners, plaques and nameplates.
Crystal Rock, based in Watertown, CT, distributes pure water, coffee and other refreshment products, along with office supplies, to businesses and homes throughout the Northeast. It's also involved in vending. The company bottles and distributes natural spring water under the Vermont Pure brand and purified water under the Crystal Rock Waters label. It roasts and packages coffee under its Cool Beans brand.
The company was formerly known as Vermont Pure Holdings Ltd., and became Crystal Rock Holdings Inc. earlier this year.
