BAYSIDE, NY -- Veteran New York City operator Rocco (Roy Beltier) Bellettieri died on July 23. He was 79.
Beltier was a lifelong member of the coin-operated amusement and music industry in New York City. Originally associated with the late Tilford Gross, Madison Amusements (Bayside), he went on to establish his own operation, Bayside Vending Co.
Active in industry affairs, Beltier was a longtime participant in the Amusement and Music Owners of New York. "Roy was an exemplary and loyal member of AMOA-NY," said association president Ken Goldberg, PLK Vending (Woodside).
"He was always the first person to step forward and lend a hand for the good, welfare and benefit of his fellow operators. Roy was always optimistic," Goldberg recalled, adding that he was respected by those with whom he did business.
"He was an operator's operator," the association president summed up.
Bellettieri is survived by his wife Gloria and daughter Teresa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research.
