TEXARKANA, TX -- Police here on May 6 raided three secondhand merchandise stores that they said also offered eight-liner devices with illegal cash payouts or coupon awards. Police seized machines and cash while issuing arrest warrants for the storeowners, said local news outlets.

The raids were unusual because at least 20 players were cited for gambling. Typically, only the owners or operators of eight-liners have been charged with violations in similar raids around the Lone Star State.

In other eight-liner news, investigators for the Cameron County District Attorney's office arrested a San Benito couple for illegal cash payouts at two video arcades in the jurisdiction.

The pair was charged with engaging in organized crime, money laundering, keeping a gambling place, gambling promotion and possession of gambling device charges.
