MALVERN, PA -- USA Technologies Inc. said it now has 1,000 customers enrolled in the ePort Connect cashless payment service for vending and other automated retail industries. The number of customers using the service is reportedly up 90% from 525 businesses just a year ago.
USAT chief George R. Jensen attributed the increase in cashless customers to the company's ability to eliminate the complexity of implementing an unattended cashless payment service by serving as a "one-stop shop." Its ePort Connect service includes everything from merchant account setup and wireless SIM activation to deployment assistance, merchant services, over-the-air updates and 24/7 support.
The company's hardware solutions range from the top-of-the-line ePort G8, which can accept all forms of cashless payment, from swipe and contactless to cellular phone, PDA, fobs and prepaid, to the economical ePort EDGE, which at $199, costs less than many bill validators. USAT's payment programs are structured to enable vending operators to acquire the hardware without making a major up-front capital investment, by paying a small monthly service fee instead.
