ALAMEDA, CA -- The Pacific Pinball Museum has more than doubled the size of its collection of classic flipper games and other coin-op novelties, thanks to an endowment made by a well-known philanthropist.

Rhino Records founder Richard Foos donated more than 100 vintage machines, said museum founder and executive director Michael Schiess. The Foos collection, consisting mostly of pinball machines and jukeboxes, is valued at $85,000. It also has a few vintage soda vending machines.

Among the vintage flipper titles in the collection, according local news outlets, are Apollo, Be Bop, 4 Horsemen, Blue Skies, Daisy May, Harbor Lites, Lovely Lucy, Magic Clock and San Francisco. Scheiss said he plans to restore some of the machines in time for display at the museum's sixth annual Pacific Pinball Exposition, which will be held from Sept. 21 to 23 at the Marin County Civic Center in San Rafael, CA.

Other pinball museums in the nation include the Pinball Hall of Fame (Las Vegas) and Silverball Museum Arcade (Asbury Park, NJ). The National Pinball Museum recently moved to a new site in Baltimore after losing its lease in Washington. | SEE STORY
