SAVANNAH, GA -- During its midyear board meeting here at the Hilton DeSoto, the Amusement and Music Operators Association elected its new officers for next year's term.
Taking the helm as AMOA's 2012-13 president will be Andy Shaffer of Shaffer Services (Columbus, OH). John Pascaretti of Pascaretti Enterprises (Warren, MI) will become vice-president; Bobby Hogin of Hogin Amusements (Dickson, TN) will be treasurer; and Jerry Johnston of Amusement Unlimited (Eugene, OR) will be secretary.
Their terms begin at the conclusion of next year's Amusement Expo in Las Vegas on March 16.
Shaffer will succeed Donovan Fremin of Delta Music Inc., (Thibodaux, LA). Fremin and his wife Amanda hosted AMOA's board meeting, which took place from Sept. 23 to 27.
AMOA's special guests included Jeri Nims, wife of the late AMOA past-president Bob Nims, along with two of her family members. John Margold, the newly elected president of the American Amusement Machine Association, and AAMA president John Schultz were also on hand, along with AMOA legislative counsel Michael Zolandz and Amusement Expo show manager Brian Glasgow.
The meeting brought together 38 of AMOA's 44 directors who represented 24 states. In all, 91 people participated in meetings and social events. AMOA leaders took part in 21 meetings, mostly of AMOA committees and subcommittees.
