PARIS — The French vending association, NAVSA, and Reed Expositions France are readying Vending Paris 2008, which again will be held in Hall 4 of the Porte de Versailles exhibition center. The biennial exposition of vending and related technology and products is set for October 29 through November 1.
The show this year will emphasize what its planners regard as a new segment of the away-from-home market, “take-away” sales. According to NAVSA, 2 billion take-away meals were served in 2006, and the market is growing at an annual rate of 4% to 5%.
In order to present a comprehensive overview of the away-from-home market and a wider variety of exhibits corresponding with new consumer demands, the 10th edition of Vending Paris will include a new area called “Nomading.” Dedicated to take-away sales, it will bring together all the components of the carryout food and refreshments business, from food and drink product suppliers (including purveyors of chilled and ultra-chilled items) to packaging and labeling equipment suppliers. It will appeal not only to vending operators, but also to other retail establishments that serve the “nomad” sector, such as coffee shops.
New this year will be an “innovation” trophy, presented to the most original new offering – product, service or technology – in the take-away sales field. This will join the six established exhibitor trophies that honor creativity in advancing the state of the art.
With some 250 exhibitors and 12,000 visitors from France, other European Union nations and the global vending industry, Vending Paris (originally D.A. Expo) has become a leading international event over the decade since its inauguration.
