NAMA Releases Micromarket Operational Guidelines Manual By Experts

CHICAGO -- The National Automatic Merchandising Association has published a manual that provides operators expert insight into best practices for operating a micromarket. It was authored by Dr. Michael Kasavana, NAMA's endowed professor at Michigan State University, and industry consultant Brad Bachtelle of Bachtelle and Associates.

NAMA's "Micromarket Operational Guidelines" manual covers market requirements, industry metrics and critical benchmarks. Its seven sections focus on micromarket merchandising, point-of-sale technology, transaction settlement systems, auxiliary services and administrative processes.

The manual also provides an overview of retail software, consumer analytics and menu engineering, as well as a checklist of micromarket criteria, a glossary of terms and sample store configurations.

The publication has a $500 value, but is available to NAMA members for an introductory price of $149 for the remainder of 2013. A preview is available and can be ordered on NAMA's website.

"The data and case studies in this manual make it relevant for any operator interested in micromarkets," said Joann DeNardis, NAMA's director of education and certification. "An incredible amount of research went into preparing this comprehensive publication."
