TROY, MI -- Micromarket innovator 365 Retail Markets reports that it has invested in and is partnering with AirVend (Provo, UT) to offer cashless touchscreen peripherals to vending operators. The new solution will be called 365SmartVend.
AirVend's AV5 and AV7 units can be retrofitted to most vending machines in minutes. Once they're installed, operators immediately gain machine telemetry, cashless payment acceptance, inventory reporting, nutritional display and the ability to wirelessly load and display promotional materials -- eliminating the need to manually update their machines. Planned integrations with 365SmartHQ and AV-Live will allow operators to manage and report on both their vending and micromarket installations from a single, web-based portal, 365 explained.
In addition to its accelerating adoption of cashless payment technology, the vending industry is trending toward offering a wider variety of product through self-checkout micromarkets, and to providing more information to consumers on the vending machines themselves. AirVend thus offers a solution for operators looking to make the transition to cashless and to comply with new consumer information requirements, the company added.
"As a micromarket and vending technology company, 365 Retail Markets has always understood how important it is for operators to simplify their technical and operational environments," said 365's chief strategy officer Matt Caston. "With this partnership, 365 and AirVend will be able to offer customers best-in-class solutions for both environments."
The AirVend system was introduced to the vending industry at this spring's National Automatic Merchandising Association OneShow. | SEE STORY
